Happy Monday??

Why does Monday have such a bad reputation?? You never hear people complain about any other day of the week as much as Monday. And here's an example of why...

It stormed all night last night. Which I'm not complaining about. We are in desparate need of the rain. But it woke me up all night. Finally I woke up at 4:45 and realized the dog wasn't on the porch...where she should be if it's raining. She was gone. I wasn't about to go out and look for her so I tried to get some more rest before my 6:15 alarm.

6:15 alarm comes and goes...and I must have turned it off because I didn't get out of bed until 7:00. We need to be out the door by 7:20. So I rush to get ready in 15 minutes and then go get Elizabeth up. Poor thing had gotten sick at some point during the night...but I couldn't miss school this morning because I wasn't prepared for a sub and I had a committee meeting I didn't want to miss so I decided to go ahead and take her to the babysitter and maybe take the afternoon off. We get out the door about 7:25 into the drizzling rain, me carrying a 20 lb baby, her diaper bag, my school bag and purse. We're loaded, ready to go. Late, but ready. Then the car doesn't start. At this point, I'm just ready to laugh because it is so obviously a Monday morning. I tried a million times, praying that the car would start, to no avail. So I quickly called our team leader who SO very nicely offered to get everything covered for me (thank you Stephanie!!!!) and Elizabeth and I trudged back inside.

So happy Monday to us! The bright side is I get to spend another day at home with my baby so that makes everything better. And to ease my guilt of not being at work I've been scouring the web/pinterest for ideas to use at school, mainly for the Daily 5 program we use. So now that Elizabeth is down for a nap, it's time to take a breath, laugh, and realize, things could really be a lot worse.

Did I mention Jake's out of town? So that didn't help much either!!

PS...Allee was on the porch. The FRONT porch. She hates storms and being in the backyard so she dug her way out of the backyard to go sit on the front porch. I'm just thankful I didn't have to go search for her....
