Here's a look back at our summer...
We kicked off summer by getting a slip & slide. It's only been used a couple of times, but it's always fun. :)
Jake turned 31 on June 4th. We celebrated for several days! We did gifts on his birthday...
I took him to a Hibachi grill that night...
And then we did another celebration in College Station a few days later..
We made a trip to Sherman for my cousin's high school graduation and some family time...

| We tried a new burger restaurant and Ellie definitely approved! |
While we were in Sherman, we went out to the spillway. With all the rain we got in May/June, the spillway was gorgeous!

We stopped in College Station after Sherman for some more family time. We went out to the land and I got the girls up on the horses for a little bit. Both were in love and Ellie screamed when she had to get off.
We've spent lots of days at various pools and splash pads!! The girls are definitely water lovers.
One day we enjoyed playing in the rain. I LOVE the rain. You will never see me curse the rain. So I get happy every time it rains...kinda backwards huh?
Happy Father's Day daddy!!!
The days have been hot, so we haven't spent much time at the park, but we did try out the new Exploration park in Katy. I wasn't super impressed, but it was a nice little outing.
We also love Sonic's half price shakes and frequent there a little more often that we should!
Garth Brooks came to Houston at the end of June and since he tops mine and Jake's list of favorites, we couldn't miss it. We had so much fun! Garth put on an amazing concert and we had decent tickets so we really enjoyed ourselves! Jake got me a souvenir shirt that I wear at least once a week!!!
Happy 4th of July! Fireworks time!! (See there's that Garth tshirt!)
I stayed in Rockwall for a week in July to keep Brooke's kids while she and Ryan were in Utah. We had a fun week and I managed to keep my sanity with 4 kids ages 4 and under. Really though, they did awesome!
Our morning walks have mostly fallen by the wayside. It's too hot unless you go at like 6am and heaven knows we're not doing that. We stopped at the splash pad during one walk because we were just so darn hot!
We've watched lots of tv and movies and had some quality cuddle time. :)

We stayed with my aunt and uncle's family and they have a fun pool in the backyard that the girls loved. We loved getting to stay with them. They pampered us and took such great care of our family. They were a huge help to me and again, feeling so blessed!
Another pool day...Lizzie loved this slide..
We celebrated our 8th anniversary on July 21st. We went to one of our favorites, Fleming's and enjoyed getting spoiled and eating some amazing food.
It's not summer without a trip to Bahama Buck's!
After 8 years of hand me down furniture, we finally bought our very own brand new set. Finally growing up!
We took a family trip to San Antonio in August for my birthday. It was such a nice little getaway. We visited friends on Sunday and Monday and it was great to catch up with them. We stayed downtown on Sunday night and at the Hyatt Hill Country on Monday and Tuesday. We basically did a whole lot of nothing and just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Perfect way to spend my 28th birthday!!

And that's where we're at! Summer has been just perfect. Not too busy, not too boring. I wish it was a little longer but it will be nice to get back in to a routine.
