Last Wednesday I had to take Elizabeth to get her blood work done. I knew it wasn't going to be a pleasant experience for either of us. I never watch when I have my blood drawn, but because I was making sure Elizabeth was still, I had to watch this. It wasn't pretty. That needle is huge!! I felt so bad for my little girl but she was such a trooper. We were in and out of the office in 5 minutes and by the time we hit the elevator, Elizabeth had calmed right back down.
I was still a little traumatized though...so I hit up La Centerra and Katy Mills...I finally unpacked my shopping bags last night and this is what I came up with...
8 pairs of Pjs
5 long sleeve tops
2 outfits
2 dresses and a skirt
3 pairs of leggings, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of sweatpants and 1 pair of tights
24 total items and I spent less than $250. Osh Kosh and Carters were having 50% off sales and Crazy 8 was having a 30% off sale plus the Clearance rack had some good buys. I hate shopping for myself...but I love shopping for Elizabeth! The only money I spent on me that day was at Bath & Body Works. :) But I'm so okay with that because now Elizabeth is set for some colder weather...thank goodness it finally arrived!
And here are a couple of pictures of Elizabeth right after her blood work was done...
Her blood work actually showed that she is anemic. Surprise surprise. My mom is anemic, I'm anemic...I think my grandmother is anemic (Mimi??)...so I wasn't shocked when the doctor called to tell me that. They do want me to start giving her poly-vi-sol (an iron supplement) to try and get her levels up. We'll check again at her 15 month appointment and see how they look. My mom told me she took poly-vi-sol as a child and so did I. I find it funny that in the 30 someodd years since my mom was a child (you're welcome Mom!) they are still using the same supplement...but if it works, it works!

Poor girl! Blood work and needles are never fun. Tate took Poly-vi-sol for the first few months of his life for anemia too...they even use it in Mexico! Hope her anemia corrects itself.
