Technically we have a one year and two weeks old little girl. I'm a bit behind on this update. But you try juggling a very active one year old and 20 very, very active 6-7 year olds! :) We got her one year pictures taken this morning and I can't wait to see how they turn out!!
We had two parties for Elizabeth and this is the ONLY year we are doing that! Her first party was in Sherman and the second was in College Station. We had a blast, Elizabeth got some wonderful, fun presents, and we captured some great pictures of Elizbaeth digging into her birthday cakes. Pictures are here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10101199194067354.3388544.8343491&type=1&l=aed4b29f47
Here's a quick update on Elizabeth...I've got to get back to the Aggie game!
We went to the doctor last week and Elizabeth was a trooper. She got FIVE shots (poor baby!) but other than that, was happy as a clam. (What does that saying even mean anyways?!?)
Weight: 18lb, 9.6oz (12th percentile)
Height: 29" (45th percentile)
Crawling/Walking: Elizabeth still crawls at super-sonic speed and that is her main choice of movement. She walks pretty fast holding on to us/something but if we let go, she drops to her bottom. She is just not interested in walking. It's funny because usually she's pretty fearless...but not when it comes to walking. She can stand by herself and just started taking 2-3 steps though, so I'm guessing we're pretty close. I'm totally fine with her not walking...because I know I'll hardly be able to keep up with her when she starts!
Eating: Now that she's one, Elizabeth's diet has changed. She has 3 sippy cups of whole milk a day, more if needed. She eats pretty much whatever we eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between. If you have any ideas/suggestions for good baby meals, let me know!
Sleeping: Still 2 good naps a day, 1-2 hours or more if she's exhausted. If we're out running around in the evenings she grabs a catnap in the car too. If she doesn't get that evening nap she's tired and ready for bed around 8. Sleeping through the night of course!
Clothes: Anywhere from sizes 9-12 months. She's itty bitty and I love it! Shoes - size 3, diapers - size 3
Speech: Elizabeth LOVES to talk and babble. She says "uhoh" all the time..she loves to drop things and say it. She looks at me and says "momma" and Jake and says "dada." She says "byebye", "baba" (sippy), and "papa." She still says plenty of other sounds but those are the words she actually knows the meaning of. She can also sign "please" and "more"
Tricks: Elizabeth loves to make us laugh so when we try to get her to do little tricks she usually is very complient. Our routine of tricks includes the following: waving, blowing kisses, clapping, doing the "touchdown!" sign, signing "please"and "more", shaking her head no, and giving fives.
Development:
-Two teeth on the bottom
-Still no tears...but she does produce moisture in her eyes
-SUPER fine motor skills...she can pick up the tiniest of objects. She loves to pick up objects and hand them to us and have them handed back to her and hand them back to us...well you get the picture. The doctor was impressed with her fine motor skills at our visit last week. :) (proud momma!)
-Understands her name and when we say "no." She has started shaking her head no at us :)
-Laughs up a storm when she is tickled or playing with her favorite toys.
-Loves reading books with mommy
-Mimicks sounds she hears (growling, laughing, coughing, talking, etc...)
-Can feed herself finger foods and hold her own bottle and sippy cup
